About The Opportunities

Looking for a career that makes a difference? Our essential Waste & Recycling Branch has immediate openings for Landfill Assistants, Plant Operators, and Collections Plant Operators. We're dedicated to providing vital services to our community while driving sustainability through responsible waste management. 

About You

All positions require:

  • General Construction Induction (White) Card.
  • Minimum 'C' class open drivers license. 
  • Experience in the operation of waste management facilities or similar environment.
  • Demonstrated sound level written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work under minimal supervision and with a team focus.
  • Working knowledge of different waste and recycling streams, including various categories of valuable scrap materials would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrated sound level use of computer related software including MS Office Site, Internet, email and Council corporate software and gate / weighbridge software or similar
  • Possession of Forklift Operators ticket an HC (Heavy Combination) license is desirable, not essential.

As a Plant Operator - Landfill, you will also require: 

  • Possession of a “HC Articulated” (semi-trailer) drivers licence.
  • Possession of a “LL” front end loader ticket.
  • Possession of a “LZ” Bulldozer Ticket.
  • Possession of a “HC Articulated” (semi-trailer) drivers licence.

As a Collections Plant Operator, you will also require: 

  • Minimum 'HR' class open drivers license.
