About Our HR Team

We are a collaborative and supportive team of Human Resources professionals, focused on embedding best practices, aligning with organisational goals, and driving impactful people strategies.

Working closely with payroll, safety, and organisational development and learning teams, we strive to deliver real outcomes that improve employee engagement, capability and workplace culture.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR Business Partner to join our team and work closely with leaders and employees across the organisation. 

In this role, you will:

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment processes to attract, select, and retain top talent.
  • Coach and guide leaders on HR matters, building their confidence and capability to manage their teams effectively.
  • Provide expert advice on employment legislation, policies, and workplace issues.
  • Partner with teams to implement performance and change management initiatives that enhance productivity and engagement.
  • Provide support in resolving underperformance, workplace grievances and disputes, ensuring fair and compliant processes while fostering positive outcomes.
  • Drive initiatives that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

About You

  • You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
  • Proven experience as an HR Business Partner or similar role, ideally in a diverse or complex workforce environment.
  • A strong foundation in HR practices, including recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Excellent coaching and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and deliver practical solutions.
  • A problem-solving mindset and the ability to navigate challenges with innovation and care.
  • Familiarity with The Australian Industrial Relations landscape and its application.
  • Familiarity with Queensland State legislation and its application in local government is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or related disciplines are highly desirable.
