About The Opportunity
As a Leading Hand in the Civil Branch, you will join a multi-disciplined team that is capable of performing a wide range of maintenance, repair and construction activities throughout the Bundaberg Region. The Leading Hand also assists the supervisor in carrying out their duties, including leading small teams to deliver maintenance activities, minor works or specific tasks and completion of task/project documentation. A significant portion of this role is to operate a single backhoe in situations of low to moderate complexity and precision.
About You
Mandatory:
- A minimum Class “MR” Driver Licence.
- Backhoe qualification and demonstrated experience in the operation of a Backhoe.
- Demonstrated significant experience in roads and drainage construction and maintenance at a trade equivalent standard.
- Demonstrated high level ability to work within a team environment to ensure that outcomes are achieved.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written and utilisation of computer technologies.
- Demonstrated team leadership skills with the ability to motivate and encourage team members.
- Possession of a current Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card.
- Sound computer skills.
Desired:
- Class HR Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience in the operation of various mobile plants including Grader.
- Experience in undertaking traffic control and signage set-out on public roads (MUTCD Levels 1 or 2 would be an advantage).
