About The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to oversee all aspects of operations of our Events team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the effective management of Council events & Multiplex Sports & Convention Centre operations, evaluating operational performance, and implementing strategic planning practices to enhance service delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality events and experiences for the community.
About You
- Demonstrated understanding of Local, State and Federal Government Regional Tourism Policies, Programs and Strategies.
- Understand the principles and practices of commercial business operations.
- Highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
- Exceptional ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and manage changing priorities.
- Demonstrated experience and proven skills in delivering first class customer service to internal and external clients as well as key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively leading a team to achieve desired goals and outcomes.
- Experience in planning and monitoring restricted budgets for projects or events.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient computer skills which include a high level of database management.
- Confidence in public speaking and presentation skills.
- Current Open "C" Class Driver's License.
- Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated knowledge and industry experience relevant to the role highly desired (i. e. event management, hospitality, business administration, marketing).
- Demonstrated knowledge of Council's functions and procedures and/or Local Government experience highly desired.
