About The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and community-focused professional to support the Childers and Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centres in a casual backfill capacity. In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies that ensure the community has access to vital information and services. You will also help identify emerging issues across the region, facilitate active participation in programs and activities, and support initiatives that respond to community needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the well-being of the Bundaberg Region.

About You

  • Provision of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia wide – name only)
  • Working with Children Blue Card
  • Current Class C Driver’s License.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Community Development; Human Services, Social Work and/or behavioural/social sciences and minimum of three years relevant industry experience or substantial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in community development, working with disadvantaged persons, individual groups, youth and communities.
  • Demonstrated experience in co-ordinating activities in a regional/rural environment including the ability to attract, identify and source funding for, community projects, groups and organisations
  • Knowledge of and skills in social needs analysis, social planning and service development and to develop strategic responses to address identified needs.
  • Proven ability to work under minimum supervision, have high motivation, initiative and the ability to make sound judgments
  • Demonstrated experience with local and regional networks and government departments and knowledge of relevant government policy and funding programs
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including writing reports and submissions
