About The Opportunity
Are you a motivated and ambitious individual currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree? Do you have a thirst for knowledge and a passion for practical application? If you are eager to grow your skills and make a tangible impact, we want to hear from you!
As a Cadet Engineer, you will play a key support role in the delivery of Council’s civil design program. Under the guidance of the Senior Design Manager, you’ll assist with the preparation of design and documentation for a range of civil works projects. This hands-on role offers the opportunity to develop your technical skills using industry-standard software such as 12d, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, TuFlow, XPRAFTS, and Microsoft Office applications. You will be involved in investigation, design, and drafting tasks—both independently and as part of a team—and contribute to the preparation of construction drawings and technical documentation. You'll also participate in field investigations, produce timely technical reports, and collaborate with construction and maintenance crews to help ensure successful project outcomes. This is an ideal opportunity to apply your engineering studies in a practical setting while learning and growing in a supportive environment.
About You
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative spirit, demonstrating the ability to work well both independently and in team settings.
- Personal organisational skills and a proactive approach to tasks and challenges.
- Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office and CAD applications.
- A valid Class 'C' Driver's Licence to support fieldwork
