About The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced HR professional to join our People, Safety and Culture Branch as a Human Resources Business Partner. This is a permanent, full-time role supporting a diverse portfolio of internal clients across Council.
This dynamic and rewarding role offers exposure to the full spectrum of generalist HR services – from hands-on recruitment through to coaching leaders, managing complex disciplinary matters and contributing to strategic workforce matters. You’ll work closely with WHS and Organisational Development and Learning to deliver meaningful, people-centred outcomes and contribute to a high-performance culture.
This role provides an opportunity to build your skills across a large and diverse organisation, while making a genuine impact and supporting the growth of your colleagues and community.
About You
We are seeking an experienced HR generalist who thrives in a varied, fast-paced environment and enjoys partnering with stakeholders to deliver practical, confident advice across all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will bring demonstrated experience in recruitment, performance and conduct matters, and applying sound HR practices within a legislative framework.
You’ll be a collaborative team member, keen to contribute to a positive team culture and passionate about supporting others to grow. You’re comfortable working independently while sharing knowledge and learning with others, and you value being part of a supportive and forward-thinking HR team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline, or substantial relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in a HR generalist role, including recruitment, performance and conduct management
- Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments
- Experience coaching and supporting leaders
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proven ability to balance competing priorities and maintain confidentiality
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- A current “C” Class Driver’s Licence
