About The Opportunity

Join our dedicated Cemetery Operations team and play a key role in maintaining and enhancing Council’s cemetery facilities. This hands-on position involves carrying out a variety of maintenance, repair, and improvement tasks with a focus on delivering respectful and high-quality services to the community. Working under limited supervision, you’ll be part of a supportive team committed to upholding the presentation and functionality of our cemetery spaces.

About You

  • Possession of Class ‘MR’ Class license
  • Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card
  • Possession of relevant plant tickets including Backhoe/Excavator and Forklift
  • Certificate III Horticulture or related field and/ or equivalent industry knowledge and experience.
  • High level experience in the operation and basic maintenance of, relevant mechanical equipment and items of plant.
  • Demonstrated physical fitness and capability to undertake manual labouring work.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and work effectively under limited supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work outside of normal hours as required.
  • ‘HR’ Licence desirable.
  • Possession of the following certifications: Confined spaces, First Aid, Working at Heights, Trenching and Shoring, Chainsaw Ticket and Herbicide Operator Ticket (AC/DC) desirable.
  • Sound knowledge in the applications of Local Government work practices, policies, procedures, and guidelines desirable.
  • Previous Cemetery/Funeral experience desirable.
