About The Opportunity

As a Labourer in our Civil Works team, you will be part of a multi-disciplined crew performing a wide range of maintenance, repair, and construction activities across roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Performing manual handling tasks and working with mobile plant.
  • Carrying out work on bridges, culverts, roads, and underground utilities.
  • Placing and finishing concrete, asphalt, and bituminous materials.
  • Setting up formwork, steel fixing, and installing road and bridge furniture.
  • Completing set out, line marking, and related civil construction tasks.
  • Operating equipment and machinery per Council requirements.
  • Ensuring worksite compliance with Work Health and Safety standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An unrestricted Class C Driver’s Licence.
  • A Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
  • Ability to obtain a “Working at Heights” Certificate and complete “Working in Proximity to Traffic” training before commencement.
  • Demonstrated experience in Roads, Drainage and Bridge construction and maintenance, e.g. placing and finishing concrete, sprayed bituminous and asphalt work, timber carpentry road furniture and line marking.
  • Physical fitness and capability to undertake manual labouring tasks.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Desired:

  • Class MR or HR Driver’s Licence
  • Traffic Controller Accreditation and experience in traffic control and signage set-out
