About The Opportunity (Internal Only)
An exciting opportunity exists within Bundaberg Regional Council’s Water Services Branch for a Principal Engineer Design Management.
In this role, you will lead the development of concept and detailed designs for Water Services’ capital projects, ensuring effective coordination between project planning and delivery functions. You will also oversee annual program handover activities and provide timely technical advice during project delivery to support a collaborative and efficient model between planning and delivery teams.
You will play a key role in ensuring innovative, fit-for-purpose, and construction-ready design outcomes that align with Council’s strategic infrastructure and service objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering (with eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia).
- Demonstrated experience in infrastructure planning, project management, design, and delivery.
- Proven leadership skills in managing staff, consultants, and multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Experience engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve collaborative project outcomes.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to deliver within scope, budget, and timeframes.
- Highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence.
- (Desirable) Postgraduate qualification in project management, engineering or in a relevant discipline.
- (Desirable) Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) or working towards obtaining registration.
