About The Opportunity

Bundaberg Regional Council is looking to expand its Project Delivery Branch to include a dedicated Pre-Construction Group to complement the existing construction focused team.

Council is seeking multiple Project Managers to join the Project Delivery Team within the Infrastructure Operations and Delivery Department. These roles will assist in the delivery of Council’s Capital Program, with a strong focus on pre-construction and project development.

The positions are responsible for delivering significant projects using a program management approach and undertaking delegated contractual duties throughout the project lifecycle. The roles involve close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Facilitating and leading all pre-construction activities, including assisting with scoping and planning construction projects, forecasting resource requirements, facilitating internal and external engagement, managing design development, preparing progress reports, preparing and maintaining project documentation, and undertaking delegated contractual duties.
  • Providing technical advice in accordance with Bundaberg Regional Council requirements.
  • Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of the Pre-Construction team’s policies, procedures and processes.
  • Assisting in the development and continuous improvement of Council’s project management systems and processes.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, result-orientated environment, be agile and versatile, embody Council’s values, and demonstrate collaboration and team-focus.
  • Demonstrated extensive experience with high level project management experience managing preconstruction activities including design management for construction projects and preventative maintenance programs within time, cost and quality constraints
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of local government infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated high-level time management, problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation/interpersonal skills.
  • Appropriate construction industry licences and certificates.
  • Qualification in Project Management.
  • Current Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence (manual).
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering providing eligibility for Corporate Membership of Engineers Australia and/or eligibility for registration as a Registered Professional Engineer in Queensland (RPEQ) is desired but is not essential
  • Eligibility for, or qualification of, a QBCC Site Supervisor licence or QBCC Building Project Management Services licence is desired but not essential.
