About The Opportunity
Bundaberg Regional Council is expanding its Project Delivery Branch to establish a dedicated Pre-Construction Group, complementing the existing construction-focused team.
We are seeking multiple Project Technical Officers to join the Project Delivery Team within the Infrastructure Operations and Delivery Department. These roles support the delivery of Council’s construction and preventative maintenance programs, with a strong focus on pre-construction and design development.
The roles contribute to the delivery of significant projects using a program management approach and provide technical and administrative support across the full project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Supporting the planning, scoping and delivery of construction and preventative maintenance projects, with a focus on pre-construction and design development.
- Assisting with cost estimates, quantities, design development and technical reviews.
- Coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, consultants and service providers.
- Supporting procurement activities, including preparation of invitation to offer documentation.
- Assisting with contract administration, project reporting and budget recommendations.
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Providing technical advice in accordance with Council requirements and contributing to continuous improvement of Council’s project management systems and processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, result -orientated environment, be agile and versatile, embody Council's values, and demonstrate collaboration and team-focus.
- Demonstrated experience providing effective project management services within scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, including Workplace Health and Safety, traffic and environmental management
- Demonstrated ability to interpret design plans and specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare offer documentation and knowledge of general form and relational contractual arrangements.
- High-level negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Appropriate construction industry licences and certificates
- Current Class ‘C’ Driver’s Licence
- Certificate or trade qualification relevant to the construction industry and/or Project Management, is desired but is not essential.
- Eligibility for or holding a QBCC Site Supervisor Licence or QBCC Building Project Management Services Licence, is desired but is not essential.
