About The Opportunity
The aim of the Coordinator Local Laws Compliance is to oversee and coordinate the actives of the Local Laws Compliance team involving the investigation, inspection, monitoring, consultation and enforcement of Council’s Local Laws and relevant State legislation including animal management.
The position also has a key role in supporting the Manager Compliance Services in the preparation of budgets and other activities that support the good management of the Local Laws Compliance teams.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will
- Oversee and Coordinate activities for the local Laws Compliance Teams.
- Provide professional advice, feedback and mentoring to the Team Leaders and other members of the Local Laws Compliance Team.
- Assist the Manager Compliance Services to develop, monitor, report on and manage the section budget.
- Manager Compliance Services in the preparation of the annual budget including the annual fees and charges.
- Ensure that the training needs for Local Laws Compliance team members are identified and that all team members are appropriately trained.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
- Demonstrated minimum 5 years’ experience working in local government regulatory services and animal management roles.
- Well-developed leadership and management skills with experience working with management level staff to implement cultural change initiatives and develop high performing teams.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate and consult with staff and stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.
- Demonstrated experience and high-level skills in preparing routine correspondence, memorandums and reports including Council reports.
- Certificate IV in Government (Statutory Investigation and Enforcement) or equivalent.
