About The Opportunity
Bundaberg Regional Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Human Resources Officer to join our People, Safety and Culture team in a permanent full-time role, with a strong focus on end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition.
This is a key role for a skilled recruiter who thrives on sourcing, attracting, and securing high-quality talent in a competitive market. You will take ownership of recruitment campaigns across a diverse workforce, partnering with leaders to deliver strategic, timely and effective hiring outcomes that support Council’s service delivery to the community.
In addition to leading recruitment activities, you will support the broader employee lifecycle by providing practical HR advice, delivering efficient HR operations, and contributing to people-focused initiatives. Working closely with HR Business Partners, you will play an integral role in building strong relationships across the organisation, enhancing employee and stakeholder experiences, and strengthening Council’s people and culture practices.
We are looking for someone who brings a strong recruitment background, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of service and professionalism.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Certificate level qualification in human resources (or a related field); or proven experience in a generalist or administrative HR role.
- Strong administrative capability, including attention to detail, time management, problem-solving skills, and initiative.
- Ability to work effectively within a small team and contribute to improving processes and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Demonstrated capability (or capacity to learn) HR policies, procedures, and practices, supported by strong computer and system skills.
- Ability to self-regulate emotions and work in a n emotionally sensitive, high-pressure and confidential environment.
Desirable:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources (Diploma or higher would be advantageous).
- Experience in a local government environment.
