About The Opportunity
As a Labourer based at our Gin Gin depot, you will play an important role in delivering maintenance, construction and operational activities across Council's civil infrastructure. Working outdoors as part of a supportive crew, you'll undertake a variety of labouring tasks, operate light plant, vehicles, tools and equipment, and contribute to delivering safe, efficient and reliable services for our community.
In this role you'll:
- Undertake a variety of civil labouring and maintenance activities.
- Operate plant, vehicles, tools and equipment appropriate to the role.
- Work safely while contributing to high-quality service delivery.
- Collaborate with your team to deliver a wide range of operational tasks.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in labouring, civil construction, maintenance or a similar hands-on environment.
- The ability to safely undertake physically demanding work in an outdoor environment.
- An understanding of workplace health and safety and safe manual handling practices.
- A current Class C Driver’s Licence.
- A Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card (White Card).
- Basic competencies or relevant tickets for the operation of light mechanical plant and hand tools.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Desired:
- Class 'LR', 'MR' or 'HR' Driver’s Licence.
- First Aid and CPR qualifications.
- Traffic Control Accreditation.
