About The Opportunity
Ready to spark your career as an electrician?
Bundaberg Regional Council is offering an exciting four-year Electrical Apprenticeship within our Water Services team, giving you the opportunity to earn while you learn and develop practical trade skills alongside qualified tradespeople.
As our Apprentice Electrician, you will work towards completing UEE30820 – Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician while gaining practical, on-the-job experience across Council’s electrical assets and facilities.
Throughout your apprenticeship, you will assist qualified tradespeople with electrical maintenance activities across Council’s Water Services operations. You will develop practical trade skills, learn to safely use and maintain equipment, and participate in the theoretical training required to become a qualified electrician.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine interest in the electrical trade, enjoys practical problem-solving and wants to build a career as a qualified electrician.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is ready to learn, work safely and develop their skills as part of a trade team.
To be successful in this apprenticeship, you will need to demonstrate:
- Completion of, or be in the process of completing, a Senior High School Certificate.
- A willingness and ability to learn and follow safe, environmental and water quality work practices.
- Effective written and verbal communication and good interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work under supervision and as part of a team.
- A Construction Industry General Safety Induction Card (White or Blue Card), or the ability to obtain one.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn relevant systems and software.
Preferred school subjects include Physics, Mathematics, Science, English and Manual Arts/shop subjects. First Aid/CPR, an open Class 'C' Driver Licence and Low Voltage Rescue certification, or the ability to obtain these, would also be desirable.
