About The Opportunity
As a Local Laws Compliance Officer, you will play an important role in protecting and improving the amenity, safety, and wellbeing of our community. Working across a broad range of regulatory activities, you will investigate complaints, conduct inspections and patrols, educate the public, and apply Local Laws and relevant legislation relating to animal management, parking, illegal dumping, abandoned vehicles, overgrown allotments, and other compliance matters. This is a hands-on role that combines community engagement, problem solving, and enforcement to support a safe and vibrant Bundaberg Region.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following key selection criteria:
You will bring:
- Experience investigating and enforcing Local Government legislation, particularly in Local Laws and/or animal management environments.
- Strong communication, conflict de-escalation, and customer service skills, with the ability to work professionally with a diverse range of community members.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing competing priorities in a dynamic field-based environment.
- Sound computer skills and the ability to use or learn mobile enforcement systems, infringement software, and Microsoft applications.
- A current C Class Driver Licence and a willingness to participate in after-hours, weekend, and on-call rosters when required.
