About The Opportunity

As the Community Connect Worker you will establish and response quickly and effectively to seek access to services for individuals. The position works closely with local specialists and develops networks within their local services systems for advocacy, referrals and assistance. The position is embedded in the Gin Gin Neighbourhood Centre, accessed by a wide cross section of the community including people experiencing significant vulnerabilities and complex needs.The Community Connect Worker will provide tailored short-term support to build skills and capability of service users and to facilitate access to supports and services.

About You

  • Qualifications in Social Sciences, Human Services or similar and/or extensive demonstrated experience in providing support to people who are vulnerable and/or at risk.
  • Positive Notice Blue Card for Child Related Employment (Commission of Children and Young People and Child Guardians) or ability to acquire same.
  • Current “C” Class driver’s license is essential.
  • Demonstrated high level of ability to work effectively within a team environment ensuring that outcomes are achieved.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and present a customer focused approach to people at all levels within the public and private sectors.
  • Display excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills, as well as organisational and Microsoft office skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide confidential client focused support 
  • Experience with working with the whole of community with a community service focus.
