Wintringham is a specialised non-religious not-for-profit welfare organisation. We are committed to providing older people who are at risk or have experienced homelessness with a range of high-quality care, housing, support, and tenancy services. We employ more than 1,000 staff across Victoria and Tasmania.
The Tasmanian tenancy team is part of our housing supports program who work with older Tasmanians to maintain stable long-term housing and seek ways to improve their overall health and well-being.
Your new role
We are currently seeking a proactive individual to join our Tenancy Management Team as the Tenancy Coordinator in this Full-Time position. In this role you will oversee and manage Wintringham Community Housing units in various locations Statewide while providing key leadership and working closely and collaboratively with the Housing and Homelessness Support (HHS) Team, Property Services Team, and tenants.
Your responsibilities and duties will also include:
- Oversee and manage tenancies to high standards in accordance legislative requirements, Wintringham standards and philosophy of social justice
- Effectively supervise tenancy management worker/s through coaching, supervision, debriefing, regular informal and formal performance feedback and reviews, and professional development support
- Coordinate and participate in team meetings, resident meetings and other forums as required
- Undertake transition of all resident and other relevant information input into relevant software
- Assist tenants to maintain stable housing and independence through paying their rent
- Resolving arrears by proactively engaging with tenants in a timely and supportive manner, maintaining the properties and therefore sustaining their accommodation
- Maintain and where required, develop data collection spreadsheets to record data that enables effective analysis of the assistance and follow up provided through the program
- Coordinate the entry and exit of residents from housing properties in conjunction with other relevant service providers
- Respond to resident feedback and complaints in line with Wintringham policy and procedures
- Utilise relationships within sectors to assist access into other services and systems

We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Certificate IV in Community/Social Housing
- Current Tasmania driver’s license
- First Aid Certificate – Workplace Level 2
- A good understanding of the current Tasmanian Residential Tenancies Act 1997.
- Experience representing in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania
- Experience in working effectively and sensitively with a broad range of clients, including those with high support needs and challenging behaviours
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A commitment to social justice.
- Experience in CHINTARO or industry Real Estate Management Software, trust accounting, Microsoft and Excel etc (highly advantageous)
