About the Role
You will work within our Maternity Unit where we are renowned for our holistic approach to perinatal care, as well as our maternity facilities. The Level four maternity services comprised of five well equipped labour suites, a special care nursery, 16 spacious postnatal rooms, an outpatient clinic and childbirth education program. With outstanding reputation, leading Obstetricians, experienced Midwives and state of the art equipment, Burnside Hospital is one of Adelaide’s most popular private maternity hospitals with parents to be - a leader in providing exceptional maternity care, dedicated to supporting mothers and their families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. We are seeking compassionate and skilled Registered Midwives to join our dynamic team and contribute to our mission of delivering exceptional care, always.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive midwifery care, demonstrating excellence in clinical skills and contemporary midwifery practices.
- Apply critical thinking in all aspects of midwifery practice to ensure the best outcomes for mothers and babies.
- Foster effective communication and interpersonal relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Adapt to evolving models of care and implement changes based on clinical evidence and best practices.
- Utilise clinical data to contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Resolve conflicts by employing appropriate strategies and finding solutions that consider all sensitivities involved.
- Coach and mentor students to support continuous learning and enhance the delivery of contemporary, quality care.
- Understand and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the service.
- Maintain computer literacy with proficiency in word-processing and database programs, including Microsoft Office.
- Exhibit strong written and oral communication skills to effectively document and share information.
To be successful in the role you will possess:
- Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A minimum of two years recent experience within the obstetric setting, demonstrated clinical currency and skill sets spanning the continuum of midwifery
- Commitment to continuous professional development and education.
- Willing to work across a seven-day roster spanning all shift types
