About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and relationship‑focused leader to oversee our Preadmissions function across both Burnside Hospital sites – Toorak Gardens and Stepney. This permanent full‑time or negotiated part‑time (0.8+ FTE) role is central to ensuring safe, well‑coordinated and contemporary admission pathways for our patients.
Reporting to the Director Clinical Operations, you’ll lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team and provide hands‑on oversight of clinical assessment, patient suitability, risk identification and admission preparation. You’ll play a key role in strengthening systems, processes and workflows across sites, driving integration, and supporting efficient patient flow and resource utilisation.
This role also has a strong external relationship component, working closely with Visiting Medical Officers, Specialist practices and other healthcare partners to support seamless admission planning and service growth. Exceptional communication, collaboration and leadership capability are essential, along with the ability to influence, problem‑solve and guide your team through change.
