Maintenance Tradesperson
Job No:
BH139
Location:
Toorak Gardens
About the Role
We’re seeking a dedicated and practical Maintenance Tradesperson to support the safe, clean and functional operation of our hospital environment across both Burnside Hospital sites. This full‑time role is central to ensuring our facilities, plant and equipment remain well maintained and able to support high‑quality patient care.
Reporting to the Facilities Manager, you’ll assist with routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, equipment checks and general labouring duties. You’ll play an important role in supporting preventative maintenance activities, responding to work requests, and helping maintain the overall presentation and functionality of hospital buildings, plant rooms, storage areas and service corridors. The position also contributes to safe equipment movement, site inspections and compliance with WHS, infection control and environmental requirements.
Success in this role requires a hands‑on, reliable and safety‑focused approach, with the ability to follow instructions, work cooperatively with the maintenance team, and provide courteous support to hospital staff. Experience in maintenance, labouring or facilities support is desirable, and a trade qualification in plumbing, electrical, HVAC or carpentry is highly regarded.
