About the Role…
As the Café Attendant, you will play a pivotal role in managing the operations of Café Otto. Reporting directly to the Hsopitality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the café runs smoothly and efficiently while leading a team of volunteers. Your expertise in food safety and handling will be crucial in maintaining our high standards, ensuring that every meal prepared meets the strictest health regulations.
In this role, you will not only oversee food preparation and customer service but also engage in stock management, record keeping, and staff training. Your leadership will inspire others and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
Café Otto is a vibrant, internally run service at the Burnside War Memorial Hospital, dedicated to providing a delightful dining experience to visitors and staff. With an array of fresh food options, beverages, and thoughtful gifts, our café creates a welcoming atmosphere where patrons can enjoy their meals amidst the serene backdrop of the heritage-listed Attunga Gardens.

About you…
We are looking for a dedicated individual who embodies our values and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service.
- Experience in Hospitality Services with a strong understanding of food handling and hygiene standards.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Proficient in basic office software and point of sale system.
- Experience leading and motivating teams is highly desirable.
Your positive attitude, initiative, and commitment to safety will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative and engaging work environment, where both staff and patrons feel valued and respected.
