About the role
We have several full-time, part-time and casual opportunities available for experienced RN’s and EN’s to join our Wards and Close Observation teams at Burnside Hospital, Stepney.
Reporting to the Clinical Manager, our RN’s and EN’s are responsible for providing exceptional direct patient care in the hospital wards and close observation units, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their stay at the hospital. These roles work as part of a team of dedicated staff that can include Clinical Nurses, Registered, Enrolled, and Assistants in Nursing, Visiting Medical Officers, Allied Health professionals, Attendants and Volunteers.

About you
You will be a clinically proficient and experienced Nurse who is motivated and passionate about providing exceptional patient care and enjoys working in an environment where your contribution is valued.
This position requires an individual who:
- Has a current Enrolled or Registered Nurse registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Has demonstrated experience in and knowledge of acute care nursing principles, surgical procedures and methods, monitoring and equipment, and pain management methods and medications.
- Has effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage professionally and respectfully with patients and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrates ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in demanding situations.
- Possesses strong organisational skills and attention to detail with excellent assessment ability and critical thinking mindset.
- Demonstrates ability to anticipate and identify potential problems quickly and efficiently, adapt, and communicate these to the team to ensure safe, positive patient outcomes.
- Recognises, values and promotes diversity and inclusivity.
- Has a flexible and proactive approach to work with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
- Exhibits the highest ethical standards and treats all hospital and patient matters with confidentiality and respect.
