Burnside Hospital’s Transition to Professional Practice Program
Burnside Hospital is a proud not-for-profit, patient-centred, community hospital, operating over two sites, Toorak Gardens & Stepney. Our purpose is to provide exceptional care always. We are committed to supporting the next generation of nursing and midwifery professionals to launch their healthcare careers by offering support, mentorship, and opportunities for professional growth via our one-year Transition to Professional Practice Program (TPPP), with ongoing employment thereafter. This structured program will guide you from academic learning to hands on patient care, helping you build clinical knowledge and skills and gain confidence in a supportive learning environment by working within a team of experts and experiencing diverse and comprehensive services in contemporary facilities.
The following clinical streams are offered in our TPPP, across both Burnside Hospital locations:
- Perioperative Services - Instrument / Circulating
- Perioperative Services - Anaesthetics, Recovery & Day Surgery
- Surgical Wards
- Maternity Services (Toorak Gardens only)
