LABORATORY SCIENTIST - PART TIME (Maternity cover position)
PURPOSE
An exciting opportunity exists for a part time laboratory scientist to join 360biolabs to support the day to day operations of the lab to maintain laboratory accreditation (NATA) and operational standards. You will provide scientific expertise and assistance in the development, validation, and conduct of biological assays for research, preclinical and clinical studies. You will perform sample processing and assays for clinical trials according to NATA R&D and SOP requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of laboratory activities
- Adhering to ISO/IEC 17025 (2005), the Quality Management System, SOPs, and other requirements as per NATA R&D Accreditation
- General laboratory duties including ordering and maintaining supplies, housekeeping
- Assisting in the development, optimization and validation of virology and immunogenicity assays
- Assisting in the production of standard operating procedures
- Data analysis and reporting
- Maintaining records to levels consistent with relevant standard
CRITERIA
You will have:
- BSc in a Biological discipline plus relevant experience
- Experience in medical laboratory techniques for the role required
- Excellent organisational and writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in handling infectious human samples, growth and propagation of viruses, neutralisation & plaque assays, qualitative and quantitative culture, molecular methods and assays (e.g. PCR)
- Experience in immunology assays e.g. cytokine analyses, flow cytometry and ELISA
