PURPOSE
We have an exciting opportunity for a team player to join the Alfred Medical Research Education Precinct (AMREP) Flow Cytometry Core Facility. As AMREP Flow Cytometrist you will have shared responsibilities for the maintenance and operations of the flow cytometry facility. You will provide expert guidance for staining and analysis of samples; preparation of samples for cell sorting; assistance with data analysis, provide appropriate education, tuition to clients and be involved in seminar presentations, forums and workshops.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will interact with a wide range of investigators and research groups, perform flow sorting experiments, assist users running their own samples and provide basic maintenance of the instrumentation.
CRITERIA
You will have an understanding of multilaser systems, optics, computer networks, basic cell biology and immunology, virology, existing flow analysis software (CellQuest, FlowJo, FlowLogic, Diva, etc.) immunofluorescence reagents, multicolour panel design, the use of spectral viewers, polychromatic data generation and analysis, and flow cytometry methods is an advantage. An aptitude for working in a team, with complex instrumentation and an ability to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with flow cytometers is essential. You should minimally have a BSc.
