CENTRAL PROJECTS FUNCTION

Bravus’ new Central Projects Function is tasked with delivering the significant program of Facilities, Infrastructure, Processing, Rail Systems and Technology capital works for our Carmichael Rail Network, Bowen Rail Company, and Bravus Mining and Resources businesses.

This is an unmatched opportunity to work as part of a cohesive, multi-disciplinary team, on both rail and mining projects valued at more than A$100 million in the next 12 months alone.

Bravus’ mining, rail network, and freight rail assets have decades-long operational horizons, and this provides an exciting pipeline of largescale projects for the Central Projects Function to deliver.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Construction Supervisor - Infrastructure and Facilities will support the planning, execution, and management of infrastructure and facility projects within our Mine and Rail Operations.

With the opportunity to work across a wide variety of Infrastructure & Facilities Projects including Water, Roads, Rail Infrastructure, Camps, Maintenance Facilities, Fuel Storage and associated infrastructure this role provides a great opportunity to support the delivery of the future infrastructure and facilities needed to support our growing operation. The successful applicant for this role can be based in either Townsville, Rockhampton or Bowen.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Supervise and lead a team of employees and contractors in the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety regulations.
• Coordinate with engineering and planning teams to review project scopes, schedules, and resource requirements, and provide input on constructability, feasibility, and risk management.
• Oversee the construction and maintenance of infrastructure and facilities, to support our operations.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with engineering standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Manage equipment and material resources effectively, including procurement, allocation, and inventory management, to support timely and cost-effective project execution.
• Monitor project progress, productivity, and costs, and report on key performance indicators to management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and deviations from planned objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to in-field crews, assisting with problem-solving, interpretation of engineering drawings, and resolution of construction-related issues.
• Ensure that all project activities are carried out in accordance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company policies, and promote a culture of safety excellence among team members.
• Foster positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory agencies, and facilitate effective communication and collaboration to achieve project goals.

Other qualifications and attributes required include:

Necessary:  

• SARC Safely Access the Rail Corridor (Nationally Accredited)
• RIW Card (Rail Industry Worker Identification)
• 5 + years’ experience in an equivalent position
• Current Open ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
• Experience with coordinating site works across multiple projects.
• Ability to read and interpret project documents including, blueprints and drawings.
• Proficiency in demonstrating proposals and projects.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and professional presentation skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise deadlines.
• Effective time management and problem-solving skills.
• HLTAID003 Provide First Aid

Desired: 

• Tertiary qualified in a related discipline
• Mental Health First Aid
• Supervisory experience working with a project team within a heavy haul rail and / or Infrastructure environment.
