Scheduler - Planner

The Schedule - (Planner) will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6 software. You will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that project schedules are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with project objectives.  This is a scheduling role

This role is based in the Townsville office. 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and Maintain a Master Schedule for the Sustaining Capital Works Program. Work closely with various stakeholders including Project Managers to develop detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 software.
  • Create a Baseline Schedule for Major Projects as per Company Procedures.
  • Measure physical progress on the project on a weekly basis and produce weekly progress reports.
  • Produce progress reports for the Leadership team including S Curve, productivity information and manning statistics together with interpretive narrative.
  • Communicate with the Project Managers on schedule status, variances, and performance metrics in a clear and concise manner. Provide insights and recommendations for schedule improvements and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide re-forecast reports as required.
  • Coordinate schedule-related activities and resolve conflicts as needed to maintain the Master Schedule.
  • Create “what if” schedules as required to assist in decision making.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement or optimization of project systems, processes, quality, safety, as well as to resolve problems.
  • Contribute to improved project outcomes through active participation

Other qualifications and attributes required include: 

Necessary:

  • Proven experience in project scheduling using Primavera P6 software.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 software, including creating and managing schedules, assigning resources, and generating reports.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. 
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, standards, and best practices in construction scheduling.
  • Previous experience of at least 5 year as a Planner, or in a similar role on a large scale project.
  • Detail-oriented approach with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

 

Desired:

  • Heavy industry and/or Mining industry experienced, preferably in open cut mine operations
  • Experience in other Planning tools (MS Project) and PowerBI report development.
