We're excited to announce an opportunity for a Senior Advisor Environment. The Senior Advisor Environment will play a key role in coordinating the implementation and enforcement of environmental management standards across our Mining operations. This position will provide expert environmental guidance, fostering a culture of awareness, accountability, and leadership within the environmental team. The Senior Advisor Environment will ensure compliance with relevant legislation and company policies, aiming to minimize or eliminate any negative impacts of mining on the environment.
In this role, you will be supported by a senior leadership team that is fully committed to safeguarding both the environment and the future of our mining operations. This role is structured on a 5/2 roster, with the position based at site.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate the site environmental team.

Monitor and enforce the EMS to ensure on site environmental compliance.

Use, coordinate and facilitate the use of EMS processes such as the Permit to Disturb (PTD process).

Provide environmental advice and assist operations on environmental and approval related matters.

Coordinate monitoring activities including air quality, noise, vibration, waste, pre-clearance etc.

Coordinate the environmental data using allocated software such as Eagleio, MonitorPro, Survey123, Borealis etc.

Proactively recognize environmental service and consumable requirements in advance.

Ensure plans are implemented to prevent delays to productivity and avoid environmental non–compliance.

Ensure activities and expenses are approved, accounted for and maintained within allocated budgets.

Research, communicate and implement innovations and technologies.

Co-ordinate the maintenance, implementation and amendment of the EMP.

Effectively communicate environmental expectations and standards.

Co-ordinate, attend and prepare for internal and external audits.

Oversee consultants and subcontractors as required in-line with site standards.

Maintain awareness of existing and developing environmental legislation and company standards.

Assist in incident investigations as appropriate.

Contribute to in-house environmental training, development and assessment of personnel.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
-
Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent
-
A minimum 5 years of environmental industry experience
-
A proven history contributing to a team effort, in a mine operational environment

Knowledge of environmental statutory requirements in relation to mining

ISO14001 framework experience

Experience in working in environmental management techniques, systems and tools including monitoring, inspections, and auditing
