We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Commercial / Contracts Administrators to join our team and support the Carmichael Mine – a 10mtpa coal operation located northwest of Clermont in Central Queensland.
This permanent role is based in our Townsville office, making it a fantastic opportunity for a local professional or someone looking to return to North Queensland. Relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate wishing to make the move back to Townsville.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Commercial / Contracts Administrator plays a key role in supporting Commercial Managers and Contract Owners across the business. Drawing on your operational mine services experience, you will help deliver successful commercial outcomes, ensuring our people have access to the goods and services required to maximise revenue opportunities and drive sustainable growth.
In addition to this being a great role for a Townsville local or someone looking to return to Townsville, it also represents a fantastic opportunity for someone to relocate to North Queensland to further their career in the commercial space.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- Administer a portfolio of agreements including communication, variations, claim management, and reporting.
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies that meet business needs and optimise supplier outcomes.
- Manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical, and supply chain risks.
- Provide advice and support to contract owners, including managing payment claims and invoicing to ensure compliance.
- Lead by example in safety through behaviours and conversations.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a passionate, solutions-focused professional who aligns with our values of courage, trust, and commitment. The successful applicant will bring:
- Undergraduate degree in commerce, economics, law, engineering, business, or related discipline.
- Minimum of 10 years’ supply chain, category management, or contract management experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mining, preferably contractor-operated open-cut mining.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiation, strategy, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- A flexible, adaptable approach with the ability to prioritise and meet operational deadlines.
- Key behaviours including collaboration, inclusiveness, people development, and influencing skills.
