We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced Resource / Modelling Geologists. In this role, you will play a vital part in developing and maintaining geological models that support mine planning, resource estimation, and operational decision-making. You’ll work closely with geologists, engineers, surveyors, and planners to ensure data is accurately interpreted and delivered through robust 3D models.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain 3D geological models in Vulcan.
- Conduct resource estimations in line with JORC and relevant reporting standards.
- Streamline workflows and enhance accuracy through Python scripting and automation.
- Manage and validate geological data in Geobank, maintaining data quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with exploration, mine geology, and planning teams to integrate interpretations.
- Prepare technical reports, block models, and visualisations for stakeholders.
- Support reconciliation processes and contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives.
- Share knowledge and support capability development within the geology team.

Other qualifications and attributes required include:
- Degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.
- At least 3 – 5 years’ experience in resource modelling or mine geology (coal mining experience highly regarded).
- Strong capability in Vulcan for modelling and block model creation.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation.
- Experience using Geobank for geological data management.
- Solid understanding of QA/QC and resource estimation practices (JORC).
- A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills.
