About the role
Located near the town of Moranbah in Central Queensland, the Rugby Run solar farm is Bravus’ flagship solar investment in Australia and Queensland’s best performing solar facility.
The Electrical Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring all site operation and maintenance activities are delivered safely and efficiently to enable the successful operation of Adani's Rugby Run Solar Farm.
Reporting directly to the Asset Manager the Electrical Supervisor will coordinate all site operation and maintenance activities including the supervision of contractors as required to successfully operate the Rugby Run Solar Farm safely on schedule and within budget.
This position will be based on site working a 7 days on / 7 days off roster.
Responsibilities of the role include:
- On Site Representation of the Principal under the Workplace Health and Safety Act
- Managing RRSF Safety and Environment Performance and the Contractors HSE compliance to their management plans, undertaking compliance checks/audits and ensuring compliance with WH&S obligations
- Authorise works utilising the WACA procedure
- Leading and promoting good site practices and culture
- Ensuring a safe & healthy work environment
- Execute operation and maintenance activities for RRSF and manage stakeholder interaction, site security and safe access
- Oversee all aspects of the site activity work including planning, scheduling and on-site logistics and reporting on activities for compliance as required
- Focus on delivery of the electrical and substation installation activities to meet ongoing operations requirements. Carry out maintenance tasks as allocated through the maintenance schedules
- Providing technical support as required for problem solving maintenance issues
- Execute the scheduled work & assist tradespersons / technicians in maintenance activities
- Ensuring that the Contractors are acting/working in compliance with the terms of the Contract
- Monitor the skills and performance of electrical workers and contractors and provide mentoring, training and advice as necessary to gain maximum delivery results
- Ensuring maintenance coverage for breakdowns
- Oversee the protection testing for all HV/LV equipment
- Ensuring coordination of all site activities and interfaces between various parties
- Run daily prestart and weekly Contractor meetings during outage/maintenance period
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with contractors and stakeholders
- Develop punch lists for end of contract works and monitor close-out of punch lists
- Record diaries of site activate including: electronic note, photos of activities, records of conversations and instructions
- Prepare reports on events associated with but not limited to IT, Safety, Environment, etc
- Provide inputs to prepare O&M, budget and forecast reporting (W, M, Q, A).
- Comply to the maintenance schedule, carry out weekly, monthly and yearly checks as per maintenance checklist
- Keep a track of spares and consumables at site. Keep consumption record and raise timely purchase requisition to maintain minimum spares at site.
- Co-ordination with monitoring centre, energy trader (Alinta), and Powerlink/AEMO.

Other qualifications and attributes required include:
- Hold a Nationally Recognised Electrical trade certificate
- License to Perform High Risk Work
- Current Advance First Aid Certificate
- Current LV Rescue and CPR Certificate
- Current Senior First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificates
- Construction Induction Card
- Current unrestricted ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role with preferably 2 years experience in the solar industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of Transmission and Distribution High Voltage Operational procedures inclusive of OH&S requirements
- Extensive experience in the operation of a variety of High Voltage isolating devices up to 132kv
- Experienced with solar PV system installation, inverters, wiring, grounding, utilities interface and performance monitoring. Experienced with Semiconductor technology desired
- Familiar with international Standards for solar PV systems, and other relevant standards
- In-depth knowledge of environmental health and safety legislation and Australian Standards as applicable to construction of a solar farm
- Highly skilled in developing operating procedures, work and resource plans and schedules as it relates to Operations in the solar industry
