About the Opportunity

This exciting and pivotal role is primarily responsible for managing our architecturally designed purpose-built Early Learning Centre, which is now in its eighth year of operation, as well as our mobile service visiting rural communities across the central west of NSW. Both services provide professional, high-quality education and care to children from birth to school age in a caring and culturally sensitive environment, ensuring respectful and inclusive experiences for families and children.

You are an ideal candidate if you have a genuine enthusiasm for early childhood education, you’re dedicated, self-motivated and a natural leader who is passionate about growing, teaching and inspiring young minds. You will be aware and supportive of cultural diversity in our community, sensitive to the needs of families, and able to build and maintain effective networks with industry associations, governance agencies and family support services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the teaching staff of the Services to always comply with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations as well as the Service’s policies and procedures.
  • Lead and support the teaching staff of the Services to maintain the National Quality Standard, Approved Learning Framework, and Assessment and Rating process, together with the Service’s Philosophy and Goals.
  • Lead and be responsible for the implementation, guidance and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs for individual children or groups.
  • Manage Children’s Services staff, budgets and strategic planning processes and carry out operational reporting to external and internal stakeholders.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must:

  • Genuine interest in the education of children and a desire to encourage and support families and children in our community and possess the ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children.
  • Demonstrated extensive practical experience and expert knowledge of Early Childhood Education and early learning principles, teaching practices and standards.
  • Proven high level leadership skills including the ability to motivate, encourage and direct the efforts of others towards the achievement of goals
  • Proven management skills and a demonstrated high-level record of achievement in a Teaching or Children’s Services context relating to the management of staff and resources
  • Demonstrated high level interpersonal, oral and written communication, consultation, negotiation and advocacy skills with the demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships and effective partnerships with the community
  • Hold a valid Working With Children Check
  • Be an Australian Resident or equivalent or holder of a visa allowing permanent employment in Australia
  • Tertiary qualifications at AQF Level 5 (Diploma), in Early Childhood Education and Care PLUS enrolment in an approved early childhood teaching qualification at AQF Level 7 (Degree) PLUS 2 years’ practical experience, 
  • OR
  • Enrolment in an approved early childhood teaching qualification at AQF Level 7 (Degree) with completion of at least 50% of the qualification PLUS 2 years’ practical experience.

Conditions

The Manager Children’s Services (Nominated Supervisor) position is full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8.00am and 4.30pm, with the occasional requirement to work other hours between 7.00am and 6.00pm depending on the Early Learning Centre’s operational needs.
