About the Opportunity

Are you a passionate cook looking for part time hours close to home? Do you like to provide healthy, fun & nutritious food? Come and join our dedicated team!

The Cook will join the vibrant & bubbly Children’s Services team, working at the Early Learning Centre. This position will play a vital role in supporting the work of the educators, providing nourishing and nutritious meals to children attending the Early Learning Centre.

The Cook will be required to source and order appropriate ingredients, in-season fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and poultry and plan meals in consultation with the Manager and Educators, taking into consideration allergies and special dietary, religious or cultural requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a friendly and self-motivated team player, who has a passion and creative flair for cooking, has completed Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) competencies through a registered training organisation in menu planning, nutrition and safe food handling (or be eligible to obtain), is aware of and supports cultural diversity in our community and who has a genuine interest in working with children and families.

 

Conditions

  • The Cook position is permanent part-time, 25 hours per week Monday to Friday.

Salary Benefits

  • Remuneration at Grade 3 of Council’s salary system ($30.92 - $33.48 per hour).
  • 4 weeks Annual Leave (pro rata)
  • Access to Sick and Carer’s Leave.
  • 11.5% superannuation
  • Council provided uniforms
