Position Overview
The Cleaner plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of Council facilities. This position involves a variety of general cleaning tasks aimed at providing a hygienic and aesthetically pleasing environment.
You will be responsible for adhering to high hygiene standards, performing regular inspections, managing cleaning supplies, and ensuring safe work practises are followed at all times.
This position is permanent part time, 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting surfaces.
- Complete cleaning checklists for designated areas, identifying additional cleaning needs as required.
- Conduct workplace inspections, reporting hazards and ensuring safety compliance.
- Liaise with supervisors regarding cleaning supplies and equipment orders.
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals safely, adhering to relevant safety guidelines.
- Implement safe work practises and participate in WHS requirements.
- Ensure security protocols are followed at the end of each shift.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to cleanliness and safety, along with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proven ability to maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Strong organisational skills to manage priorities and deadlines.
- Effective communication skills for teamwork and reporting.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning practises.
- Must have a National Police Check and Working With Children Check.
- Valid driver’s licence required.
- Australian residency or equivalent work visa is necessary.
Experience in commercial cleaning is preferred, along with relevant training certifications in cleaning operations and safety practises.

- Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of $0.498 per hour
