About the Role
You’ll be responsible for assisting in the construction, maintenance and repair of Council’s civil assets and buildings. Your tasks will include:
- Supporting minor building works including basic carpentry, plumbing and concreting
- Assisting with the installation and maintenance of footpaths, kerb and guttering, stormwater drains and fencing
- Operating Council plant and equipment safely and effectively
- Conducting hazard identification and site safety checks
- Communicating clearly with supervisors and team members
- Maintaining accurate records including timesheets and plant logs

Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: $1,009.60 - $1,153.81 per week (depending on qualifications and experience)
- 12% superannuation

What We’re Looking For
You have:
- General knowledge of civil works and building maintenance
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Year 10
- Class C or P2 driver licence and White Card
- Australian residency or valid work visa
Bonus points if you also have:
- Traffic Control (‘Blue’, ‘Yellow’ or ‘Red’ cards)
- MR Class Driver Licence or higher
- Competency operating plant such as backhoe or forklift
- First Aid Certificate
