Are you an organised and detail-oriented professional looking to contribute to the smooth running of Council operations? As an Administration Officer with Bogan Shire Council, you’ll provide essential administrative and technical business support to the Director Infrastructure Services and the wider Infrastructure Services team, helping ensure projects and services are delivered efficiently and effectively across the Shire.
This is a temporary maternity relief role for 9 months, offering an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic environment and gain valuable experience in local government administration.
The successful candidate should be available to start in mid-Janurary 2026, with the contract concluding on 16 October 2026.

About the Role
You’ll be responsible for providing day-to-day administrative and technical support to the Infrastructure Services team. Your tasks will include:
- Managing the office of the Director Infrastructure Services, including scheduling and correspondence
- Delivering courteous and efficient customer service to staff, ratepayers, contractors and the public
- Maintaining Council’s records and files using CRM and TRIM systems
- Assisting with research, analysis and reporting on infrastructure projects and programs
- Supporting managers and staff with business improvements and project monitoring
- Ensuring confidentiality, accuracy and professionalism in all duties

Salary and Benefits
- Salary Range: $1,249.44 – $1,446.42 per week (depending on qualifications and experience)

What We’re Looking For
You have:
- General knowledge of business administration principles, practices and systems
- Experience in financial processes and office coordination
- Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Clear and professional communication skills, with discretion and confidentiality
- Attention to detail, accuracy and sound judgement in problem solving
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data/records management systems
- Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer service
- AQF Level 2 qualification (Certificate II) in Business, Administration, Financial Services or equivalent
- Australian residency or valid work visa
Bonus points if you also have:
- AQF Level 3 qualification (Certificate III) in Business or Administration
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Experience working in Local Government
