Warehouse Operative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operative to join our team. As a Warehouse Operative, you will be responsible for various tasks related to furniture handling, picking, packing, stocking, building, loading, and unloading, and driving our furniture delivery vans as and when necessary.

This is a physically demanding role that requires heavy lifting and the ability to operate equipment such as forklifts and warehouse management systems (when necessary). It is not a deal breaker as full training can be provided, but experience is preferred. 

Rate of pay is £12.00 per hour.

Working hours:  40 per week - Monday to Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and store furniture in a fast paced warehouse
  • Pick and label orders accurately and efficiently
  • Build and assemble product for shop floor displays and/or customer orders
  • Load and unload trucks using appropriate equipment
  • Perform quality control checks on both orders incoming and outgoing
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area
  • Drive furniture delivery vans and deliver furniture (as and when necessary)

Skills:

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

  • Strong materials handling abilities
  • Proficiency in picking, placing, stock management, and building tasks
  • Experience preferred with loading and unloading procedures
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods of time
  • Competency in operating forklifts or other mechanical equipment
