Ganger - Water Operations and Maintenance
About the role
Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a suitably experienced person to join the Water & Waste Section within Council's Engineering Department in the role of, Ganger - Water Operations and Maintenance.
As the Ganger Water Operations and Maintenance, you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of the Water Operations & Maintenance gang on the job site, ensuring that work is completed in an efficient manner and in accordance with Council’s policy and procedures.
The successful candidate will hold a current NSW Class C Driver's Licence at a minimum and will have detailed knowledge and experience in the laying of water and sewer pipes (construction, maintenance and repairs). In addition, you should have knowledge and experience in the operation of minor plant associated with water and wastewater construction and maintenance. Experience with working in confined spaces would be an added advantage.
- Sound experience and knowledge in the supervision and coordination of staff.
- Detailed knowledge and experience in the laying of water and sewer pipes (construction, maintenance and repairs).
- Current Class C NSW driver’s licence.
- Induction for Construction (White Card).
- Experience in the utilisation of small plant used in the construction industry.
- Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
- Ability to work on-call.
This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.
Salary: $1047.30 to $1100.33 per week + Industry allowance of $16.70 per week + super.
Position Status: Permanent Full Time
Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
