About the role
Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking applications for the full time position of Plumbing & Drainage Inspector within the Environmental, Planning & Building Services Department. The successful applicant will be within Council’s Plumbing and Drainage Section ensuring that all plumbing and drainage works are in accordance with standards.
The position of Plumbing and Drainage Inspector will provide technical and administrative input over installations carried out on private property by licensed plumbers and drainers. This position ensures that all installations, including materials and workmanship of such type are carried out and completed satisfactorily and in accordance with the provisions and requirements of AS/NZS 3500 Plumbing and Drainage Code and the National Construction Code.
Key Requirements
- A current Plumbing and Drainage Licence or tradesperson certificate (Journeyman).
- A current Class C NSW Driver’s Licence.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and enforcement of AS/NZS 3500 Plumbing and Drainage Code and the National Construction Code.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- A sound knowledge of relevant legislation.
- Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.
Salary: $1,304.65 to $1,370.70 per week + super
Position Status: Permanent Full Time
Hours of work: 35 hours per week with an RDO every third week
