About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking applications for the casual position of Custodian in the Cultural & Community Services Department. The position will be located at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre.

The Custodians will contribute to the delivery of live entertainment and events at BMEC through their responsibility for the overall presentation of the venue. They will be an essential part of the team working closely with management to identify times and usage of the building and the business needs to ensure the best presentation of the building. 

The successful candidates will be self motivating and be able to take initiative for their required tasks as well as perform minor maintenance repairs. They will also be responsible for general cleaning duties inside and outside of BMEC, to ensure the building is presented to a high standard for all guests to enjoy.  

Key Requirements

  • A current Class C Drivers Licence 
  • A current Working with Children Check 
  • Previous experience in a similar role 
  • Sound knowledge of appropriate handling use of cleaning chemicals
  • Sound knowledge of working at heights
  • Sound knowledge of operating small power tools
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends on a regular basis

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $33.18 per hour + super 

Position Status: Casual
