About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking to expand our pool of Casual Bar Staff at Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre (BMEC).

The successful applicants will be switched on, competent, punctual, well-presented, and personable with great customer service skills and attitude demonstrating initiative, ability to work in a team as well as independently. A current Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA) is mandatory.

This position will be based at BMEC in William Street. BMEC operates at various hours 7 days a week including day and night. Interested applicants need to be available for various shifts each week. Flexibility and a can-do approach is key to being successful in this role.

An interest in the performing arts and events would be desirable but not essential. Being positive, friendly and a team player is required. This job is physical and varies in pace from event to event. If this sounds like you, please complete the Expression of Interest and we will be in contact.

Key Requirements

  • Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (RSA)
  • Previous bar/hospitality experience 
  • High level customer service skills 
  • Ability to work well in a team environment 
  • Money handling experience   
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including but not limited to nights, weekends, during School / Uni holidays and public holidays)

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Hourly Rate: $33.18 per hour + weekend / public holiday penalty rates + super 

Position Status: Casual
