About the role

Bathurst Regional Council currently has an opportunity for someone to join the Works section as a Truck Driver/Labourer. In this role you will be required to drive the truck for one of the work gangs and undertake duties associated with road construction and general maintenance activities.

To be successful in this role you will hold a current NSW Class MR Driver’s Licence, as a minimum, have experience driving trucks up to 10,000kg GVM, and knowledge and experience in basic mechanical and maintenance principles of trucks.  Experience with general concreting works and drainage are also key requirements. 

Key Requirements

  • A current NSW Class MR Driver’s Licence, as a minimum.
  • Experience driving trucks up to 10,000kg GVM.
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Knowledge and experience in basic mechanical & maintenance principles of trucks.
  • Knowledge and experience in handling and finishing concrete
  • Experience in operating small plant used in the construction industry.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position requiring labouring and concreting work.
  • Adequate numeracy and literacy skills to fulfil the requirements of the position.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,044.00 to $1,096.90 per week + industry allowance of $18.92 per week + super 

Position Status: Permanent Full-time 

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every fortnight
