About the role
Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a full time Ganger - Water Operations and Maintenance to carry out a variety of tasks within Council's Water and Waste section.
The role is responsible for constructing, altering and maintaining structures associated with the water and sewer infrastructure, and also for supervising a gang to ensure continuity of water services to the Bathurst region.
Key Requirements
- Sound experience and knowledge in the supervision and coordination of staff, along with a proven ability to work effectively in a team
- Detailed knowledge and experience in the laying of water and sewer pipes (construction, maintenance, and repairs)
- A current NSW Drivers' Licence , WHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card), and a current NSW Traffic Control Certificate (TC, MP)
- Sound knowledge in the metric system of measurement
- Experience in the utilisation of small plant used in the construction industry
- Ability to work overtime and on call (including weekends) as required

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.
Salary: $1,155.40 to $1,213.83 per week + adverse working conditions allowance level 1 of $18.92 per week + on call allowance (as required) + super
Position Status: Permanent Full-time
Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
