About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is seeking to employ a full time Sewer System Operator to undertake a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance of Bathurst's sewer reticulation network, ensuring we deliver a reliable essential service to the Bathurst region.

This is a hands on role and provides the opportunity to develop your skills and learn from a highly skilled team.  The successful applicant will be enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work alone and in a team environment.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of a position requiring considerable labouring work
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Experience in the utilisation of small plant used in the construction industry
  • Possess a current NSW Drivers' licence and Construction Induction card (White Card)
  • Willingness to undertake various training courses, including relevant Wastewater Treatment Operators Training Course
  • Mathematical and chemical knowledge to a secondary school level or equivalent
  • Must be able to swim and be willing to be vaccinated for Hepatitis A and B
  • Ability to work on-call

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,044.00 to $1,096.90 per week + adverse working conditions allowance of $18.92 per week + on call allowance (as required) + superannuation
