Truck Driver/Labourer (Wastewater Treatment Works)

About the role

Bathurst Regional Council currently has an opportunity for the right person to join the Water & Waste section as a Truck Driver/Labourer based at the Wastewater Treatment Works. In this role you will be required to transport biosolids from the Wastewater Treatment Works to the designated disposal area. At times when this is not required, duties will include general maintenance and labouring duties based at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. 

To be successful in this role you will hold a current NSW Class HR Driver’s Licence, as a minimum, have relevant driving experience and have full immunity to Hepatitis A & B. You must be willing to undertake a blood test to confirm immunity. 

Key Requirements

  • Experience in the driving of trucks of over 10,000kg GVM
  • Current New South Wales Class HR Driver’s licence, as a minimum
  • Sound knowledge and experience in basic mechanical principals and basic maintenance of trucks
  • Be a competent swimmer
  • WorkCover Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Experience in the utilisation of small plant
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a small team and cooperate with team members in a diverse workplace
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of a position requiring considerable labouring work
  • Ability to complete associated administrative duties

As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to undertake a tour of the Wastewater Treatment Works. This will occur at the interview stage.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,044.00 to $1,096.90 per week + superannuation + Adverse Working Conditions Allowance Level 2 of $48.94 per week

Position Status: Permanent Full-time

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
