Pipelaying Ganger/Team Leader

About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking a full-time Pipelaying Ganger/Team Leader to carry out a variety of tasks within the Council's Water and Waste section.

The position is varied and includes undertaking the construction and maintenance of water mains and pipelines, working on pipelines in both rural and urban areas, leading a small team including a Council labourer and other contractors when applicable, reading and interpreting plans and schematics, and ensuring compliance with relevant Australian Plumbing codes and other standards.

Key Requirements

  • Sound knowledge and experience in the handling and finishing of concrete. 
  • Sound experience and knowledge in the supervision, coordination, and control of staff. 
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in the laying of water and sewer pipes.
  • Sound knowledge in the metric system of measurement. 
  • Experience in the utilisation of small plant used in the construction industry. 
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member. 
  • Undergo immunisation for Hepatitis A and B and have follow up tests to confirm immunity. 
  • Ability to work on-call. 
  • Hold a General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • Possess a current NSW Class C Drivers' Licence.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug & alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,155.40 to $1,213.83 per week + adverse working conditions allowance of $18.92 per week + superannuation 

Position Status: Permanent Full-time

Hours of work: 38 hours per week with an RDO every third week
