The Water and Waste team at Bathurst Regional Council is looking for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join their team for a permanent full time position.

The position forms part of an energetic and diverse team responsible for managing water, sewer and waste projects, and ensuring that residents and visitors to the Bathurst region are informed and engaged around these vital services which Council delivers to the community of Bathurst .

Key Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent in Science, Environmental Engineering, or a relevant field 
  • Strong time management, and oral and written communication skills 
  • Research and analytical skills including the ability to write clear and concise reports 
  • Experience in education and promotions in water and waste (or other relevant industry area)  
  • Ability to coordinate and carry out community education projects and/or events, occasionally outside of normal business hours 
  • Critical and lateral thinking skills 
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers, and develop solutions 
  • Experience and knowledge in all aspects of project management
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Current NSW Class C drivers licence

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,688.75 to $1,774.24 per week + superannuation  

Position Status: Permanent Full-time  

Hours of work: 35 hours per week with an RDO every third week
