About the role

Bathurst Regional Council is currently seeking enthusiastic, innovative and self-directed individuals with proven high-quality customer service and retail skills to work across Council's museums.

The ideal candidates will have a passion for Museums and knowledge of the day to day operations of working in a museum or tourism environment.

The preferred candidates will be available on the weekends and during school holidays and willing to work across the four museums: Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum, Bathurst Rail Museum, National Motor Racing Museum and Chifley Home and Education Centre.

Key Requirements

  • Ability to provide high quality customer service and a positive image of the Museums and Bathurst Regional Council
  • Retail experience, including cash handling, shop presentation skills and stocktaking
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with people in a polite, friendly and informative manner
  • Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and undertake tasks unsupervised
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment providing positive input into the work environment
  • Computer skills, including word processing
  • Available to work weekends and school holiday periods
  • A current Working with Children Check

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $35.00 per hour + weekend and public holiday penalty loading (when applicable) + superannuation 

Position Status: Casual

Hours of work: As required
